I’ve been surrounded by pets my whole life, my family is a big animal lover.
Most of my childhood I’ve had cats as pets, and I used to take care of them with my other two siblings.
I only had a dog once, it was a stray puppy. I took care of him until he was healthy and old enough, and gave him to a pet owner that had the same breed of dog.
I’m 22 y/o man now, and I live alone in Seattle. I’m originally from Kuwait, but I’m going to university at SPU.
I’ve been contemplating about getting a dog ever since I came to the states. I was scared that I couldn’t take care of the dog, or that I’d be lazy or irresponsible.
I think I’m ready now, but I’m not certain how to know if I’m ready for sure. I also wanted to know which breed would suit my lifestyle. I’m a student which means I will be spending 3-6 hours a day at uni. I’m also not very active, and will be going to the gym for an hour and a half 6 days a week.
I live in the first floor of my building, it’s 550 sqft. I’m looking for a dog that will be comfortable in my apartment.
I thought if I’m not ready, maybe I’ll get a cat, because I’ve had past experience and it’s lower maintenance. I need a pet to help with the loneliness.
