My dog passed away a few months ago (I just found out about this sub today)
I would like to know if anyone here have any idea of what could've happened to her? It was really weird and happened so fast that even the vet that I went in my city didn't know what happened.
She was a small size mixed breed, had 12 years (lived 10 with me) and had convulsions once in a while (I have no idea what happened to her during these 2 years but I suppose that she got hit bit a car or someone else as she was found in a box on the street).
She died on May 31th but was perfectly fine for the whole year until that point. We used to walk around the block everyday, she was learning new tricks easily despite her age...
on May 30th she start to vomit around the house at night. On the next day I took her to the vet and she died there sleeping before the vet could do the ultrasound test.
Her blood test found out only that she had anemia (probably because she vomited a lot) and her platelet was all compromised. But the vet there was giving her proteins directly through her veins so why she died so quickly?
The vet touched her stomach one time and she shouted so maybe was a stomach disease?
I just don't get why she only showed symptoms 1 day before, is there such a disease that attacks this way?
Anyway, I can't stop thinking about so I'd love to hear anyone else opinion about it.
