Hi all. I've been having extreme issues with my parent's dog for a few years
We've had her since she was a puppy and she has always been timid, but she is extremely panic-y whenever they leave
Nobody in our home has ever abused her, but if anyone raises their voice for any reason or gets frustrated at something, she begins to have a meltdown and starts running/walking in circles while panting and drooling all over the place. There have been many times where we found PUDDLES of drool because she just keeps panicking.
When both of my parents are here, she is fairly calm but if my father leaves she clings to my mother and is restless. If they both leave, she just has a meltdown as though her brain shuts off and starts pacing around, drooling, and is incosolable. She doesn't even accept treats or anything. I've had multiple occurnces where they left early and I woke up to find puddles all over the place and her hiding in our basement
Is this some kind of evidence that she may of been abused as a very young puppy before we got her? How do we go about correcting this behavior? It's quite frustrating to deal with her when she panicks for 1/2 the day
thanks all
