Hello everyone. I found a baby Belgian Malinois on the streets in Aug 2020. He grew up to be a very healthy and playful dog, he’s very curious too and sniffs everything and everyone. He’s is not aggressive with people and other dogs, and loves to be cuddled. He doesn’t destroy objects/furniture and is very friendly to the point where he almost never barks, (he only howls/barks when he hears the call of prayer from a mosque).
When it comes to training, he knows how to sit, lay down, fetch, bite, can walk (properly without pulling) on a prong collar. There are some spacious areas where I’d love to let him go loose off his leash, but he never ever recalls… I’ve tried toys/treats and it’s all in vain. I know that he’s friendly and might be playful with strangers (off the leash) but strangers might get the wrong impression and will try to throw their arms out of self defense which might end up in an accident. Ironically at home, he literally sticks to my side where ever I go, but once he’s outdoors, it’s hell loose. People of reddit with experience, can you please give me some tips on how I can teach my dog how to recall at anytime?
