I enrolled in Pets Best insurance, and shortly after the waiting period, my pet got sick. She had a pre-existing condition (UTI), but that's it.
She had diarrhea, so I took her to the vet, and that snowballed into finding evidence of possible lymphoma, a heart murmur, and kidney disease. The kidneys had been tested before this happened, and everthing was in the normal range.
They tried to say she showed symptoms before all this happened! They denied every single claim I submitted. They even denied the claim for her fever treatment and tests, and she had never had fever before!
They didn't provide any reasoning or documentation to back up what they said. It was extremely unprofessional. You can't just scribble "symptoms existed previously" in the margins of the bill I submitted and call it an Explanation of Benefits!
They also took over a month to even get back to me!
I just wanted to warn people who are looking for pet insurance to avoid Pets Best.
Also, does anyone know how to appeal this? They didn't mention anything about their appeals process.
