I’m coming here for some kind and non judgmental advice. The following is so hard to even post.
We have a 4yo cat who is urinating in our carpets, destroying our molding on our doorway, vomits every day, and worst of all tries to attack out 1 year old son unprovoked. We have taken her to multiple vets and even a behavioral specialist and can’t find a medical cause. Urine tests, stool samples, labs and X-rays come back fine. We are moving across country soon and honestly we feel horrible about even thinking of rehoming her.
We have tried everything we can think of to make this situation work, but her attacking our baby is getting to a point where we aren’t sure we can take her with us to our next home. She hates our dog as well. We’ve been keeping her away from our son as much as we can.
What would you do in this situation? We have an option to rehome her to my parents but she would become a barn cat. She loves being outside. She would be given food and water and a heated barn. Others would be standard rehoming and not ever knowing what happened to her down the road which I’m not sure I’d be okay with. I’m honestly afraid to even try to rehome her knowing her destructive habits…I’m worried if someone took her and she did similar things, they would just release her or hurt her.
