I am currently a sophomore in highschool and I’m in a tough situation. My dad brought home a dog despite everyone else in my family saying no when he asked us if we wanted one. My dad works from 6am to 7:30 pm, and my mother and brother (who both work) are largely unwilling to care for a dog they didn’t want. I also did not want the dog but I still feel bad. I also have a busy schedule where I leave for school at 6:50 am and don’t get back until 4-6 pm depending on the day. Currently my dad just keeps him in the garage all day and he looks very depressed. I’ve asked him multiple times to give the dog to a family that can actually take care of him but he is stubborn and says that “it’s his dog and I shouldn’t interfere.” Right now my only idea is to let the dog out into the neighborhood and say it got out and just hope that a more loving family finds it.
