What should I do about my roommate not being a good dog owner?

I posted recently, but I just moved in with a roommate and she has a dog. I knew this before moving in and was fine with it. I have what I believe is a fairly common opinion that if you think you are responsible enough to have a dog, you need to be willing to take care of it. This includes taking it on walks, letting it out, not leaving it for long periods of time. She left the house before 8am today and it is 6pm now.....she has not been home to let the dog out. I am an animal lover so it pains me to see an animal go this long without care. I have let her out in the past and I don't think any dog should have an accident or have to hold it, but she is NOT my responsibility.

My roommate knows this but when I told her I was home and asked if the dog would be okay she said "oh yea, I'm going to the gym after work, do you think you could let her out?" Again, I like animals but this is not my responsibility. When I get home from my day of work I want to sit down and relax, not have to take a dog out and clean up their shit. This is the exact reason I don't have a dog in my early 20s with a full time M-F job. I don't want to keep offering to let her out and keep having this be a habit because I think my friend needs to learn this is a big commitment. So I am wondering if this is a situation where I can say something about how I feel, or if the dog is SOL and has to deal with her owner being gone for 10+ hours in the day.
