Hey I am going to be moving into a very small studio next month- about the size of an average/small bedroom with a bathroom- it has its own private very small yard but not enough room for a dog to really run around and I can't tell yet how much sun it gets or if there is room for a dog to lay out in the sun. Dog can probably sun bask in the studio though and I can put a dog door for them to go outside when they like.
It is literally across the street from a large park though so I can just take dog out for a walk there but the issue is I sometimes work 6-7 days long hours (10-14hr shifts) and I'm worried they might get lonely.
I am interested in getting a senior larger breed probably pittie/ mutt but who would hopefully be content to just lay around inside and won't need much stimulation but I'm just worried they will be lonely when I am away for a large part of the day. There are a lot of dogs out here who have been in shelters for the better part of the year so maybe my situation would be better than staying in the shelter?
I just want to give a senior the best final years but I don't want them to spend their final years feeling lonely and pass away or have an accident all alone while I'm at work😢
7 days a week won't be regular but can happen sometimes- sometimes only 5 days a week- I can start at midnight and get back around noon or start at 3am get back at 4pm so I can take them for an afternoon stroll but I also sleep early/ 5pm
