Question for foster homes/rescues- how do you pay for vet bills?

Long story short. I took in a family members cat under the pretense I would watch her until they purchased a home. Mind you, they moved across county and the kitty is around ten years old. My five year old and I drove over 250 miles to pick her up and we were so excited to “foster” her fluffy self. The next week, the family member asked me how I liked my new cat.

Truthfully, I was thrilled to have such a sweet and loving kitty added to the bunch. What isn’t so great is at ten she hasn’t seen a vet since she was spayed as a kitten. Also, she was a feral kitten and remained outside most of her life. When I asked what type of litter she was accustomed to, i was they hadn’t purchased litter in over six years. She is now strictly indoor and thankfully she has no desire to go outside. Anyways. Lol

I’ve already spent around 400 on getting her up to date on shots, nail and hair trim, health exam, microchipped, tested for parasites and feline leukemia. The vet was surprised to have had such great results but was very concerned about her teeth. She is missing a few and the front teeth are brown and potentially dead/decaying below the surface. They want to do a senior blood panel and a tooth X-ray. Not including cleaning or potential tooth removal, I’m looking at a minimum of 1500. I REALLY can’t front that, and her previous owners won’t. So my question is what is the best route of action? Any suggestions or even organization recommendations??? Or is my best bet a kitty medical credit card- (but what does that apr look like)?
