I love both, but dogs are high maintenance that I don't think right now I can dedicate time to. But because I really want a furry companion, what would you say I need to be thinking about before getting a cat? I've spent a lot of time around them so have a fair idea of what to expect, independent, happy to be left alone, able to live a long life, single operators - Question is, what else do I need to think about? Can I get away with leaving them alone for hours on end? What else?
