i'm 21, i live alone in an apartment building that allows pets. i work only 20hrs a week and make around $1k a month, my parents pay my rent/groceries/phone bill so that 1k is purely spending/saving money for me.
i'm home almost all the time and i'm very responsible. i've grown up with cats, for my entire life we have always had at least one. so i fully understand how much of a commitment they are and how to properly take care of them. i have a job where i live and i very rarely go away.
