We just got a new kitten. She’s about 14 weeks. She’s still very scared of us and hides under the bed. She’s super sweet. I think she is very stressed though. Recently, she started to come out a bit and get close to us despite shaking. I noticed that she hadn’t used her litter box yet. We assumed she was trained. Anyways; I left the room for a bit and caught her on the bed. I went to check and saw that she pooped and peed all over it. I heard this is a sign of stress or maybe she just couldn’t find the litter box? I mean it was right there. Perhaps she wasn’t actually trained. She keeps doing it and thinks that’s her bathroom.
Anyways, I don’t really know what to do. What is the best way to train her? We are thinking of moving her from the bedroom to a downstairs bathroom because it’s tiled and not carpet but there aren’t that many places to hide for her. Should we just leave her in the room and give her time? Is the litter box the issue? My parents are very frustrated and I’m scared they’ll take her back. Plz help.
