I have to go out of my country (the U.S.) to France for about 5 weeks at the end of December. I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do with my cat.
- I've thought about taking him with me, though this requires a vet trip to sign of on some documents but it's not entirely clear to me how to get my cat BACK to the United States.
- I've thought about bringing in a cat sitter to check in on him every day. But I'm not sure if it's okay to leave a cat alone for this long of a time with just 30 min visits every day.
- Finally, I've thought about sending my cat to someone else's home during this time. However, this tends to be the most expensive option and I'd need to find a way to afford it. Also, I've heard it's very stressful for cats to leave their home.
Does anyone have any advice on how to travel internationally and back again with a cat? What's the best option here? Thanks so much!
