Hi everyone, my boy is a 7 month Golder Retriever/Lab retriever mix (hasnt been nuetered yet), and he has been a complete nuisance during walks for the past 2 months. Here’s an overview:
Aggression towards me: At certain points he would suddenly stop and nib at my ankle. I command him to sit. Sometimes it works and he sits instantly for a treat only to continue nibbing immediately after. Othertimes he would out of nowhere go beserk and charge at me, jumping, biting my arms and legs and is so completely over the threshold that he is uncontrollable. He usually does this if for example i prevent him from digging a hole or not going in a direction he wants to go.
He’s over 27kg now and im worried it will reach a point where its dangerous to walk him and hes too heavy to control. When he’s on a muzzle he refuses to walk. And after 15 mins he is no longer interested in treats. İ tried to walk him in intervals (10 mins, 5 mins) but he is still at it. tried super quality treats.
has anyone else been through this? any advice?
