So I have 2 60 lbs dogs. One (lulu) is 9 years old and has always been a bit moody. She doesn't like most other dogs and has a strong dominant personality. That being said she's a cuddle bug. The other dog (Frater) is just turned 5. They've alway gotten along well. They love wrestling and chasing each other around the house and in our mother in law's fenced yard. Lately though whenever Frater goes into any form of fight or flight Lulu attacks him. She goes for bighting his snout or his neck skin close to his ears and needs to be pulled off. Luckily Frater is pretty wrinkly and has a lot of loose skin there and the worst she's ever done is leave little scabs. She doesn't tare she just bites down and won't let go. Her trigger seems to be Frater's fight or flight. Whether it's him yelping from a small pain to him thinking he sees a bug or a shadow he wants to hunt down. She immediately starts growling tensing her mouth and body and before we even have time to react she goes straight for him. As far as we know they never fight when we aren't home (which isn't much) as I work from home, but it still seems weird. This has happened probably 4 times in the past month and so far we have tried to up the exercise and go for more walks. Which seemed to be working until tonight when Frater yelped getting off the couch and she attacked. We think his leg was asleep and he pulled a muscle jumping down. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Also they aren't ever toy aggressive or food aggressive.
Tl;dr: dog attacks other dog when it's scared, hurt, or chasing something.
