Humorous title, I know. But it gets serious.
My family has two cats. One, which is an inside cat. Her name is Jane, and we had her longer (about 4-5 years). She is usually calm and just sleeps all day. She resides in our basement. The next cat, which we found outdoors recently (had her for about 5-7 months). She was abandoned from her owners, so I took her in. Her name is pumpkin. She resides upstairs in my room. We have the basement door shut during the day, and have my room shut at night (so it's a day/night roam shuffle between the two).
Anyways, Pumpkin the outdoor cat is usually a bit aggressive. Whenever she sees Jane, Pumpkin will attack right away. Jane doesn't attack unless she's defending herself. Pumpkin always tries to hurt her, and I try my best to keep them from seeing each other. There are some instances where Pumpkin has gotten downstairs to the basement and just lays in another kitty bed, while Jane is higher on top of a table. But whenever they get close, they will go at it.
This has become such a HUGE problem, because these cats are really awesome. My dad said if Pumpkin keeps attacking her we are going to send her to the SPCA. I really cannot do that.
Reddit, what should I do? I always thought about removing her claws so she's not so harmful.
