Bachelor with a New Kitten (HELP!)

Hi everyone!

This is actually my first time posting on Reddit, so... greetings! Here's a quick background about myself if it helps: I live in a studio apartment in the city and have a pretty active social life hanging with friends (often bar hopping and doing the usual city bullshit, etc.). I work a regular 9-5 job within walking distance from home, recently turned 30, and am single, enjoying my bachelorhood (I PROMISE this is not a dating ad, haha). Over the weekend my friend, who is also my property manager, found a kitten (who is less than a month old, we suspect) in an abandoned apartment unit in my building. Of course, she asked me if I wanted the kitten. I have been mulling over the idea of a pet for a while, but was worried that I wouldn't have time for one. She figured a cat would be a good fit since they're pretty independent creatures and this could be a good experience for me (she wants me to learn to love something other than myself, which is a whole other story). So, she dropped off the kitten yesterday. Super tiny, black kitten with a white belly and white paws--like a tuxedo, I'd say (is that a thing?). She walked around briefly and found a hole under my cabinets in my kitchen and WILL NOT come out and I can't get in there. I get it, she's probably freaked the hell out. I went to the store and bought litter and toys and food. I left food out overnight and it was gone when I woke up this morning, so she IS alive in there, haha. I'm just not sure what to do and, honestly, I'm just super nervous as I haven't had a pet before. Can any experienced cat owners help a guy out with tips on how to care for a kitten? If she ever comes out, should I take her to the vet? Help!!!
