Hey everyone, need some advice. My MIL has an 11 year old cat named Manny. Manny is an absolute sweetheart. Unfortunately Manny is sick and my MIL wants to put him down because she does not have the money to bring him to a vet and get him checked out and to keep up with his medical bills. Manny already has preexisting condition which is asthma (needs an inhaler every once in a while which also costs a lot of money). He hasn't been to the vet yet but we believe he might have diabetes as he's showing symptoms. Symptoms being: Incredible weight loss, constantly thirsty, peeing against EVERYTHING (peed in a diaper bag, against front door, laundry room, shower curtain, you name it) ... Now I know you normally shouldn't worry about a cat peeing in several locations as it happens but for the last 10 years, he has never peed outside the catbox even once. It is only been the last year or so he's been peeing in random places. I am trying to see if anyone has some advice that doesn't involve ending his life early like maybe a way to rehome him with people that can afford to take care of him and his heavy vet bills/insurance or anything else.
We live in the Bay Area, California (hoping location helps).
Thank you all in advance!
