Ok so my cat just turned 1. He’s a little guy, weighs like 12 pounds. Just a domestic black shorthair. I don’t give him wet food, only dry food (he drinks a lot of water) and I feed him twice a day about a quarter cup of dry food. He’s always trying to get more food. Go up to my housemates & meow at them and lead them to his food dish to try and get more food. He really isn’t that skinny, but he’s not fat. He even has that little hanging pouch in his stomach. I feel like maybe I could give him more food? But he already has that fat stomach. But he always cries for food so I don’t know if I’m starving him or if he’s just being dramatic.. On another note- he is an indoor only cat. I think he wants to go outside. But I’m scared if I let him out he’ll run away and never come back. He wear a bandana but not a collar (he chews them off) so he doesn’t have an ID tag(he has the chip tho). Also nobody is going to see a black cat and see if he has an owner with there being so many strays now a days. Should I let him go outside? He wants to.. i have a fenced in backyard but what if he chases after a lizard and jumps the fence and I never see him again! He’s been indoor only since I rescued him, but I can tell he wants out. I’m just nervous of losing him forever :(
