So my friend came over to help me clean house today. I have a pitbull and a (on the smaller side) kitty. He's about 1 1/2 in October, and he's never been fixed (that's happening soon). We're cleaning minding our business and I notice his whole body is poofy, so we don't think anything about it.
He sprays and I put him in time out. He gets out out of time out. He starts to get poofy again but he let's my friend pet him for a minute. I walked into another room and my friend walked away from my cat to follow me.
He lunged off the counter to pounce her. He bit her behind the knee and scratched the hell outta her leg. I felt so bad. I come around the corner to my dog pinning him down, pulling out little tuffs of hair, and protecting my friend. I step in at this point and pull my dog back and she sits down but is still alert. I have my friend hold my dog while I proceed to put the cat back in time out.
Is there anything I can do to make sure this doesn't happen again? She has 3 boy cats of her own and my cat is a boy cat. Please anything that helps (aside from getting fixed that's happening in the next week or two). I have a baby at home so I want to make sure the cat won't do something like that to my baby. (If I ever figure out how to put pictures I'll post them)
