Cats vs Dogs. Let’s settle this debate, as I wanna get a pet as soon as I move out and I wanna know which I should go for

I’ve always fucking loved dogs. They are such purely loving and caring animals. But the more I think about it, when I move out, I will not have much money. I will probably be going to school or working, and be out of the house most of the day. Cats are probably cheaper, and wayyy more independent. Can y’all help me out
