I just adopted a 3 month old kitten yesterday evening. This morning I was looking through her fur and found fleas, and last night when I was brushing her I think I might've combed over a tick. I tried to make her a warm shallow bath in generic brand dish soap but she panicked at the sight. I tried to just lather her in the soap and rinse her off but she started screaming and shivering so I used a bath towel to dry the soap off of her but she's still shivering (or anxiety purring, I genuinely can't tell which). I literally spent all of my money getting her the basic needs so I can't afford flea treatment products until Thursday, but I can't just let her sit in the apartment with fleas for four days because I have carpet. I dried her blanket and wrapped her up in it and gave her a treat so she can calm down and warm herself but I have no idea what to do past that, please help.
