So I personally don't like Guinea pigs very much, but my brother has 2, so I still worry and care about them. They're fairly young, and live in one cage. One is Teddy and the other is Mon El.
Mon El is the youngest, and he keeps chewing on the cage and squeecking loudly for long periods of time. My brother rusually just gives in and feeds him, but I feel like it may be something else. I don't know piggies well, but this type of behaviour is what my hamster displayed when he was stressed/when he needed more space (upgraded to a bigger, home made cage a month in). The two piggies live together in your very standard pet store cage, so I feel like he may just need more space.
Does anyone else have any suggestions? Is this normal behaviour or should he look to upgrade? Summer is coming up and I thought we could make a bigger cage outside for the day time for them, but we have cats so we are unsure. Thanks!
