My cat squeezed out three kittens the other morning and I'm wondering if there is anything special food-wise I need to be doing for my cat. Do I need to feed her extra since she's making milk for three? Should I get some protein stuff and give to her?
Also: she had her kittens on my bed while I was asleep. I live in a tinyhouse so there's not a whole lot of space. I took her kitty carrier apart and put a blanket in it (one of the ones she gave birth on) and put it in the box. I put her and the kittens in it last night so I could sleep and today she wanted to move them back over to my bed so I helped her. Tonight they're all going back into the carrier again so I can sleep. Any suggestions on why she's doing this?
Before you rail on about how I needed to get her fixed, stop typing. I live on a fixed income and when I had a vet trip planned and money set aside for the trip, the little shit came home preggers! She's barely a year old and she never showed any signs of going into heat. She's an indoor/outdoor cat and her primary task at my place is pest control and I have no way or any interest in locking her up or keeping her inside.
I'm looking forward to your responses since this is the first kitty cat I've ever had and all of this is a new experience for me.
