I want to first by saying that we have taken her to the vet. They did blood tests and couldn't figure out what is wrong with her. They sent her home with some medication that they think could maybe help.
My dog is ten year old chihuahua. She is severely over weight as she has issues using her back legs. (My aunt adopted her sister who also always had weight problems no matter what we do).
Starting Monday we started to notice she was acting off. She is standing weird. Like she isn't lifting her head up all the way. Her head has been shoulder height.
She also hasn't been very activie. Normally at night she'll cuddle change who she wants to play with but now she is just laying in whatever spot we put her. She is also has not wanted to play the game we always play with her. We call it monster and she gets really into. She'll play almost all the time you start a game with her but hasn't want to play at all. But she had jumped off when we arent around.
She is eatting and drinking plenty of water. We have been giving her the food and water where she is laying, instead of going to her food bowl in the kitchen. Sometimes she will only eat/drink if the food/water is in our palms. But will drink out of bowl directly after only drinking it from my palm.
Normally when we are eatting she will beg for food like no other! Non stop until you put your plate in the stink. She has not been doing that but did eat all the food in a plate of food my offered her (which was a lot). She has been barking when we open the front door like she normally does.
When I have come home at night she has been excited to see me. She sits up and wags her tail.
This only thing has been weird. Like some signs point to her being okay but others not. The vet doesn't know and we aren't sure either.
Has anyone dealt with anything like this before?
