Ok so I've had my dog pebbles for 4 years shes a pitbull/mastiff/rottweiler cross. Before I had my other dog whenever me or another family member got home she would always act so excited, wagging her tail wildly, running around in circles, and this specific bark/howl she does whenever shes excited. About 7 months ago I got a puppy Larry and after that she completely changed. Yah of course he got a little more attention, he was just a pup he needed it. Now hes older and I'll walk them both at the same time for about an hour or two (parents own a big farm so we usually go on long adventures) and then I play with them both for about an hour. This isn't counting the attention they get from the rest of my family. But anyways now when I get home or come outside she usually just walks up to me or wont even get up when I come home. I try to give her more attention but that didn't work. One day I went outside and Larry wasnt around so I just assumed he was exploring. But pebbles runs off the deck, wagging her tail acting super excited like she used to, so I threw a toy for her and she went after it and started playing. She hasnt played like that since before I got Larry. So after a bit I went to look for Larry and when we got back she seemed down like she usually is now. A thing about larry though is he is to overprotective of his food and likes to bite her, while pebbles isnt protective of her food (before we had Larry shed let the cats eat her own food before her). I tried a muzzle for Larry whenever he bites her but he wiggled out of it, now I just usually put him in the kennel for 10 minutes everytime. Luckily he isnt biting as much anymore. But I dont know what to do. My dog cant obviously tell me what's wrong so how do I make her feel better again? I dont plan on giving Larry away because I love him and hes to attached to me, I'd feel guilty and awful if I gave him away. Whenever theres a lot of people over and someone let's him in, he will find his way through the crowd to say hi to me first, and stay by my side. Pebbles is more of our family dog.
