Hi Everyone,
A few months ago my in-laws dog blew his back leg out somehow. I don’t know too much about the biology behind it but I imagine it’s a tendon and now the ball joint is loose meaning he wasn’t able to use it properly. Since birth he’s had a heart murmur and recently a couple more health problems such as kidney stones and subsequently the vet now refuses to operate on him.
He managed to get pretty mobile on the leg again and was managing pretty well until this weekend when the other back leg went unexpectedly. Now he’s struggling and the vet is again refusing to operate.
We’ve been told to see how he goes for a couple of weeks. Luckily I work from home and am able to care for him full time but it’s hard to see. His mind and heart are still as playful as ever but you can see he’s not his normal self. He’s a 12yr old cavoodle called bailey.
Is there anything else we can do?
I’ve been told you aren’t able to strap their legs up due to the way dogs sweat.
