Moving a cat into a house with two other cats. 2.5 hour drive and introducing cats advice?

The title pretty much gives you the gist of the situation, but here's some more elaboration!

Due to some unexpected circumstances, I will be relocating myself and my 11mo 11lb cat to a friend's house. Their house is a 2.5 hour drive away, and my cat is not a fan of his hard travel case we use for vet visits. He will often bloody his claws up if left in there for long! My solution for this is a soft travel case which is coming from Amazon tomorrow. I will of course be introducing the cat to it slowly, making it a reasonable place for him. I also purchased some feline pheromone spray to help calm him as well.

Starting tomorrow, I will be taking the cat out to the car and letting him roam around in it for him to get his scent on things. Then we'll work our way up to a drive to the local Timmies (with him in his carrier of course) and hopefully be able to survive the trip.

My cat was a rescue, adopted at 9 months old - previously a stray before that, so he didn't get neutered until 7 months old.. He's a big jowly boi. He's well socialized with people but is still in a kitten/teenager stage of play. The two cats in the house we're going to are >6 years old and 2 years old. He hasn't interacted with another cat since his adoption into my home.

My cat doesn't seem to have any big issues that I can currently see, but of course we will be slowly introducing the cats to ensure they don't get into a fight. The two cats at the house currently are very chill with new circumstances, including the friend's daughter that likes to bring strays into the house - most recently a few weeks ago.

Has anyone else had experiences similar to what we are about to face? What can you recommend for a car ride this long? We have about two weeks before this journey happens. Thanks in advance!
