My cat is very sweet. She’s loving, she’s affectionate. She rubs all over me, curls up underneath the covers with me, sits on the bed, follows me around the house, etc. She’s pretty much attached to me when my husband isn’t at home. But as soon as he comes back, she vanishes. She’ll come out for food and the litter box, and that’s about it. He’s never hurt her, never done anything to harm her. He pets her when she lets him get near enough, but that’s rarely. Ever since we got her she just hasn’t really seemed to want his attention. She’ll even jump on the bed when he’s sleeping and get love from me, but never when he’s awake. I send him pictures of her laying on my lap, lounging around with me, and he swears it’s a totally different cat because she’s just so antisocial around him. She is a rescue, and we don’t know a lot about her past. Apparently she was owned by an older woman who gave her for adoption when her family put her in a nursing home, but that’s about it. She’s just so sweet and affectionate to me, but so skittish around my husband. Is that normal for cats?
