So back in December, my senior cat , Spunky, had to have minor surgery to remove a cyst that erupted. When he returned home he wouldn’t eat for a few days, so our vet gave us a cream to put on his ear to help stimulate hunger. It helped but now he REFUSES to eat is normal dry food and will only eat wet food.
I know it’s not the greatest for him but what’s even worse is that he is so particular on the type of wet food. He will like one type for a while and will then stop eating it. We tried to change it up or do different kinds each feeding but he would go days without eating until we found one he would tolerate for a while.
It’s getting frustrating since I can see he is losing weight and also since he’s not eating, his behavior is getting worse, knocking over EVERYTHING to get out attention. Before I call the vet and potentially have a major bill to pay, I figured if anyone had any advice.
Side note, there might be jealousy for cuss of his behavior since we just had our first child in October and the attention has drastically shifted.
