Something for my little Buddy; Westie with dermatitis being cold/scratching.

My poor little 4 year old Westie, Buddy, has got his first ever skin problem. For those that are not knowing, Westies are prone to skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis.

Well, we noticed the problem a few weeks back, he was on Piriton from his Vet for a while, and some shampoo, but after returning to his Vet today we saw that the problem was a lot worse than we all thought, and he had to have his back shaved clean of fur. He'll need the rest done (legs, stomach, head etc) Tuesday as the Vet ran out of time today.

We have meds for him, of course, and more shampoo/cream to use on him, so now we are just wanting to make this period go as painless as possible.

Buddy has such a lovely thick fur, a double coat, so losing all his fur is probably quite a shock for him, especially as he's probably cold at home for the first time in his life. We have fleeces and jumpers and such for him, of course, but I was thinking that, due to the nature of his rash, the jumpers may irritate his skin even more, especially if it makes him hot.

I had a quick look on Amazon UK for, well, essentially cotton jumpers. Something to keep him warm without making him too hot, and something to maybe deter any scratching and licking. His back is covered in what looks like sores, blisters, and must be driving him mad with itching. But, I don't want him to make himself worse scratching any of it.

Do cotton jumpers exist? Or something similar? I saw "Dog Hoodies" that may do the job, but not sure how thick they are. Getting something thermal would be the opposite to what we need.

Honestly though, especially if its just for night time/home, if I can't find anything I'll just cut up a few pillow cases for him. Won't win any fashion shows but it may help. I'd prefer some proper "t-shirt" or something though.

Been an upsetting day, honestly. He's such a dear soul, friendly, lively, soppy thing, he does not deserve this. So while we give him what meds he requires I'm just looking into other means to keep him comfortable.
