We recently adopted a 2-3yr old lab mix from our local no kill shelter. He shows signs of abuse such as fear peeing when severely stressed, hiding at the bottom of the stairs, doesn't play or accept treats, he does not bark (leads me to believe he was shock collar trained or beaten) and is extremely hesitant to leave the living room to explore. He is not aggressive, he's the opposite submissive to a worrying point, like he's scared. I'd love link's to articles on helping him adjust or personal experience and what worked for you!
