I’m starting a new job which I’m so excited for in 2 weeks. The only downside is I’ll have to give my dog to my parents to take care of as my new commute will have me out of the house for about 12 hours.
My dog currently stays alone for about 9-10 hours a day which is max hours I would leave him I think- hes 8 years old and fully potty trained but hes desperate for social interaction and attention by the time I get home.
I’m going to miss him so much it hurts. Its just very tough to think of other alternatives of how I could keep him even sometimes...he doesnt get along with other dogs so doggy daycare is out of the question. I could consider a dog walker, though honestly hes not the friendliest dog. If we hired someone to walk him I could easily see him howling/barking/growling up a storm when the walker came to relieve him and dont want to put him or the walker in a bad position.
Any other suggestions? What do you do with your dog during work hours?
