Our older cat was very shy and skittish when she first started with us but she’s is not so shy anymore. She’s extremely well behaved, she never even begs for a taste of human food.
However, my boyfriend likes to engage with her and get her riled up. She’ll be laying on the floor, and he’ll go to pet her, she bites, and he just eggs her on until she’s growling incessantly. She does this to me too if I pet her for too long but we can’t tell if it’s a dominance thing or if she’s aggressively playing or if she’s fighting? She doesn’t put her ears back or anything. She’ll even bare her stomach and lay in her side while she’s doing it.
