Changing a cat's habits?

Hi. Cat owner here. I just need some advice on how to train my cat to change her eating schedule.

PROBLEM: My cat sleeps in my room. She comes up to my bed and snuggles beside me. However, at around midnight, and I'm no exaggerating, midnight on the dot even though she's curled up and fast asleep, she wakes up to eat. She'll do anything to wake me up; from licking my hair to dropping things in the room. I have to get up from bed, bring her downstairs, feed her. Let her out to pee, then go back to bed. It's really taxing lately.

She also does the same thing past around 4am but that's fine, I'm awake by then for work.

My cat is 2, almost 3, years old. Is it possible to actually train her to change her eating habits or should I just boot her out of the room? Course I don't want to do the latter, poor little thing, but if it comes to that.

I've tried feeding her before going to bed. But she still wakes up at midnight.

Thanks!
