Current cat is hissing and showing signs of stress from new kitten

So I recently rescued a new female kitten (a tabby) who is about 6 weeks old. My current cat (male) who was also a rescue (tabby), is about 5 years old and have been living with us for the past 4 years. I decided to bring the kitten home and made a mistake of letting my cat see her for a few seconds. He started to hiss and growl, and also threw up once. I then kept them separated for the next 24 hours. He was being super territorial. I'm moving next month to a new place, and I decided to keep the kitten at my friend's until then. How can I improve the situation for my current cat? I'm sure he will be stressed from the move and the new kitten, but I thought it would be better to bring them both into a new place at the same time, so that my cat won't be as territorial?

Any advice?
