Looking for advice on driving 11+ hours with a pig

I have a 3 year old pig (50lbs) and I am moving to NC from CT in a few weeks. I have never driven farther than about 20 mins with him in the car. He is fantastic in the car, even without a crate, but obviously I'm anticipating some difficultly on the long drive down. Things I am already doing: tiring him out in the morning and leaving in the afternoon so hopefully he'll be verrrry sleepy, putting him in his crate in the backseat, minimal feeding before hand to limit possible car sickness, bringing ginger root in case he does get carsick, and making frequent stops if he is awake. I know a drive like that sucks no matter what but I'm trying to cover all my bases and hopefully the whole experience won't traumatize my boyfriend or pig too much lol. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!
