So I have been dealing with my cat peeing on the couch for the past week. I assumed it was because I had to get a different brand of litter (the store was out of the usual stuff). But, I am about to go out of town and just placed a second litter box in my room and noticed that my cat will use this box. In fact, she peed (or tried to) about half a dozen times withing a couple hours. Every time she urinated produced very little and all this to be said I'm worried that she has a UTI or some other kind of infection.
Unfortunately, as I mentioned I am leaving town tomorrow morning before the vet even opens. I will be gone almost 2 weeks. Is it okay to wait that long to go see the vet to get her checked out? Or should I ask my friend who's pet sitting to take her?
Obviously I don't want my cat to be in pain but I also know it won't be easy for my friend to get off work to go to the vet and don't want to ask her unless it seems absolutely necessary.
Tl;dr cat potentially has UTI, but I'm leaving town tomorrow for 2 weeks. Is this a situation where going to the vet is very urgent? TIA
