So I have two cats, a male and a female. I’m moving countries soon but I am conflicted on whether to take both or just the female. I currently live with my parents and both cats. The female is a cat my husband and I got together, so we are taking her for sure.
For the male, we are debating on whether to take him or leave him with my parents. Obviously, I love him and want what’s best for him. At first, I wanted to take both but the reason I hesitate is because he is in love with my dad and follows him around. He doesn’t really like anybody else. Also, he has some urinary problem and pees everywhere. In my current home, we have hardwood floors so we just wipe it off but in the new country, most living spaces are carpet and it would be extremely hard to handle. Additionally, excessive stress results in him getting another urinary blockage and having to stay at the vet for a week or so. I’m very afraid that he will get sick from being in the airplane for 10+ hours.
However, he also loves other cats and really likes my female cat. She is indifferent to him. He has never lived by himself without another cat in the house. If I separate them, will they be sad and look for each other?
