Some advice about my kitten!

Hi there!

So I recently adopted a 3 month old kitten - he's been great, super confident and outgoing. Loves to play, is great with new people and rarely shies away from anything. However he seems to enjoy nursing on the blanket of my bed quite often? Not that I mind at all! I'm just a tad worried there's something I'm missing or not meeting his needs there.

He'll start purring suddenly and then do the nursing motion, while sucking on the particular part of the blanket. I've looked it up, and while some sources say it's fine, others say that it's something they do when they're stressed or upset and knowing that does make me kinda worried that I'm not meeting his needs!

I try to play with him every hour, he eats great, goes to the bathroom great, is up to date with all his vaccines & got checked out by the vet recently with an all clear. He has plenty of space to run and play, and even my roommate plays with him too. I pet him (when he isn't in a squiggly mood!) and I can't really think of what more I can do :( he has lots of toys that he can play with on his own, aside from the ones that I play with him.

Is there anything that I'm missing here? All my cats in the past have been older, adopted ones, that haven't displayed this behaviour before, so having a kitten is definitely a new challenge! I just want to make sure he has the best life he deserves and isn't wanting for anything. Thanks!

tl;dr: kitten nurses my blanket often, outwardly he seems fine and happy, but is there anything i'm missing that's causing him to do this?
