Teaching a kinda-feral adult cat not to bite? Or just how to act normal around humans?

So, I live in the woods, and sometimes strays wander into our property and in this case stayed with us, and learned the ins and outs of our other cats. He's been fixed, has his shots, has gained a lot of weight now that he has access to food consistently, and he wants human contact!

Except he gets super bitey-clawy after one pet, and even nips on our ankles to get attention.

And due to stuff, we're now keeping all of our cats (including this guy) indoors.

So how can we teach him to not use his teeth to get our attention?
