My cat is about 16 years old. I got her 3 years ago from a rescue agency so her age has always been an estimate. However, we could tell right away that she was old, had that croaking meow, moved kind of slowly, definite signs of age in her teeth.
She packed on quite a bit of weight when she got settled, the vet said it was probably due to a better diet or different food and less stressed environment.
Recently she has lost a lot of weight. I know this is one of the signs of the end. There hasn't been any changes in her behaviour, eating habits, or litter box. I'm wondering if this is just an age thing or if I should call the vet. Thoughts?
