I have the best dog in the world who’s so sweet and patient and my boyfriend and I just got a cat after losing my cat 6 months ago. The last time I brought a new animal home is was the dog and we had a 2 bedroom but now we’re in a 1 bedroom and I don’t know how to handle night time.
The problem: where do I sleep? Am I overthinking things?
Here’s the situation: The cat and the dog have met and no worrisome behavior but the cat hasn’t been home a full week and the interactions they’ve had thus far have only been for max 30 mins and with my bf and I sitting there. The cat started in the bathroom and is now in our room, happily. The dog has been in the living room. The issue is that the dog comes into the bedroom with us at night to sleep but she can’t now because of the cat. We have a nest camera and the dog isn’t barking or scratching or whining or anything but she’s just sitting directly on the other side of the door. She’s being the best girl but I feel horrible that she has to sleep out there by herself so I’ve come to sleep on the couch so she’s not alone to then be alone while I’m at work tomorrow.
Am I overthinking this? Am I just being a worrying dog mom? She’s my world and to see her sigh and sit right on the opposite side of the door seems like she’s bummed and it breaks my heart.
Any space small newly adopted cat who already had a dog advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
