My girlfriend recently moved in with me and we both have cats. My cat is just over 1 year old and very playful and curious. Her cat is quite old, maybe 12 or 13, and very people friendly. But anytime her cat sees or hears my cat he starts hissing and growling. We’ve tried to slow down introductions but my cat is scrambling at any chance to get close to hers. My cat really wants to say hi and play and doesn’t seem to understand hissing and growling is a threat, and her cat corners itself the moment it even here’s my cat crying to be let out of another room. Anyone have any ideas what to do?
