Our 6-year-old dog (complete mix of breeds) has recently taken up an old behavior that we thought she was trained out of. After several years of being able to leave her home alone without incident, she's starting tearing things up when we're gone for even just a couple of hours (books, garbage, a magazine, whatever she can get ahold of). Why would a dog who had grown out of this behavior suddenly start again, and how can we train her out of it for good?
