I'm getting settled into adulthood and I believe I am ready for a pet. I move every few years and often end up where I dont know anyone, due to the nature of my job. I have struggled with depression in 2018 but im doing a lot better now... never the less I can get kinda sad/anxious all by myself. So this is why I started thibking about getting a sweet companion to travel the US with .
Ive been torn between breeds of cat and dog. But maybe theres something else I havent thought of out there!! Please, please, I would appreciate any advice from yall out there!!
Here are some factors to consider:
Like I said, I move a lot. This past year, I moved three times but it was a special case.
I often find myself missing affection, so im looking for something that will play with me at times, and that I can pet and hold. Cuddle with, brush its hair, etc. Preferably soft.
I have a decent amount of money available to spend on this pet. It will be well cared for, I hope.
And the biggest hurdle: I have a job. 9-5 but will eventually be able to work from home. I have a break in between projects right now, so im hoping to get get well acquainted with my new friend during this time. But then I will have to leave it at home. This has been a big deterrent for me, but I absolutely love animals, and I really need a hobby or something to pour my hwart and soul into like I did in college. Most of my social media is for looking at pets, and sometimes they're so cute my heart just hurts.
And space: I like apartments, I'm definitely not about to buy a home anytime soon. But i usually have a decent amount of space, and prefer open floor plans.
I love going outside, I drive everywhere, and love going for walks. I lived in michigan for 4 years and am basically unphased by cold, but I like a nice toasty indoors.
Finally, my parents are immigrants and are kind of scared of dogs. They dont live with me tho, but this pet is gunna be a part of my family!! They love cats. I Love both, though I prefer smaller dogs, like yorkies and pomeranians. Theyre usually only scared of the big bois.
Cat breed doesnt matter to me that much, but im looking into a ragdoll or scottish fold. Love british shorthairs too, but tbh id be happy to adopt. The nature of the pet is most important to me!!
For doggos, I like em small. So maybe yorkie, teacups fascinate me. Mini anything is awesome. Also love maltese, shih tzu, and sausage doggo.
So please, please let me know what y'all think I should do! I've saved up a couple thousand for this pet and Im pretty excited. I want to take him everywhere with me. Hope yall can help.
