My clingy cat has became extremely clingy ever since my boyfriend moved in.

My cat (3 years old) has always been super clingy and affectionate. When I lay down he likes to lay on my chest and if i’m not petting him, he likes to be physically close. If I get up to use the bathroom and I don’t leave the door open for him to follow me in he’ll cry at the top of his lungs. I don’t mind his neediness. I’m pretty used to it, but ever since my boyfriend moved in it has gotten to the point where my cat won’t even let me sleep. He went from spending the majority of his time in my room to spending half the time in the living room and half in my room. Before this he did not like my boyfriend at all. In the past, every time he saw him he’d hiss and run and even clawed his leg once. He’ll still hiss and run when he sees my boyfriend coming in the room. At night it’s a bit different. He’ll walk all over us all night. If we have our hands out of the blanket he’ll rub his head on them wanting us to pet him, he’ll lightly claw my cheeks to wake me up. My boyfriend is allergic to cats so I have to make sure my cat doesn’t claw his face or scratch him. It’s only been 3 days since my boyfriend moved in but has anyone else experienced something like this? Does this behavior change after a while? Giving away my cat or not letting him sleep in my room is not an option, I just want to be able to help ease his anxiety if that’s the issue.
