Question on kitten food: "4 month+" vs the "Mother and Kitten" blends

I did a search through the sub but didn't see my question answered, and a Google search didn't work. So ... here we go!

We are getting a new kitten who is roughly 9 weeks old. I realized I had picked out kitten food, recommended for 4 month+ on the back. I saw another bag on the shelf that said for "Mother and Kitten" but at the time hadn't thought it was the right fit. (I'm new to kittens... used to adult cats)

My question is if I would need to put her on the exact "Mother and Kitten" blend for the next month or so, or if it's NOT necessary because the mother isn't in the picture anymore? I don't mind going back out to the store to buy more food, but just want to understand the differences and what is best.

Thank you in advance!

Edit: I'm using Royal Canin cat foods. Their blends "Kitten" and "Mother & Babycat" is what I'm trying to understand.
