I don't think I will be able to deal with my cat's death when the day comes

Title says it all. I'm a 25m who lives alone. I'm also diagnosed with PTSD and GAD, so I take a lot of meds. So, basically, I'm a little overthinking about things.

We've been through so much together. So many funny moments and memories. She never leaves my side. I know I have some years ahead with her (if nothing bad happens), but I can't get over the fact that someday my cat won't be in my life anymore.

The purpose of the thread is this: those who have lost their pets before and had a strong bond with them, how did you deal with the pain? Did you consider getting another pet after that?
